Default My poor Redline 21-5 finally meets her demise :(

G'Day everyone,

On Friday the 7th of August at approximately 11am, my poor Redline 21-5pt meet her maker and passed to the big pearly white machine shop in the sky. She was a hard worker, having done 30-35 litres of hard work over the 9 months she was with us. She saw 2 sanctioned events and a major local meet on top of her normal work (read as abuse at least once a week for a couple of hours). She left us about halfway down the main straight at the Truggy Nationals, pulling 40k rpm, showing all the speeds and ninjas out there what a real engine is made of. Dearly loved, and will be sorely missed, may her battle hardend soul now rest in peace.

On a slighlty more serious note, OMG, that thing pulled like a freight train from day one, never missed a beat, copped so much abuse and lasted over 30 litres. Also never recieved ANY maintenance, it was the original conrod & gudgen, original seals through out the engine.

What a brilliant engine.

She was powering my RC8T (not that you would know it was an RC8T, its more of a mobile OCM advertisement, with as many OCM parts as I could manage jammed into her) and was brilliant. Well, the RC8T is now cast aside after her 1 meet at the Truggy Nats and its time to show all the local buggies how its done with the trusty OCM. We now have 6 OCM Pro's racing track side and a couple of RTR's, being more OCM's than any other brand of ar at the track.

I gonna try and attach a few pics so you guys can see the damage, when she went bang, she made a hell of a noise and everyone trackside turned their heads so quick to see what made the bang, I reckon half the people there ende up with whiplash, it was that loud.

Hope all is going well with everyone and I look forward to catching up with you all trackside very soon.

Cheers

Mauve

Man, that sucks...

But, considering she went over the 30litre mark, thats just amazing...

You will have to put: "Redline 21-5" in that sig of yours

My engine is still "fanging "

Thanks!

I feel you pain, my 3ltr rebuilt v-spec spat out the pin clip into the case then it sucked it in and it went out the exhaust. But it will run again this weekend as its all I have and will be highly modded tommorrow

Jeas Paul!

You seem to be REALLY damn good at breaking engines

Does she still run? That dint in the piston looks fairly deep, it seems u may loose a heap of compression?

Man, That sucks guys...

Yes it got me into the final today so it does go ok still. Ask the other guys in sydney, I have had a ruff time lately, havent finished 1 heat since rc pro at the start of july and killed 3 engines, 1 radio, 2 diffs and around 20 clutch bearings, finally found the crank was bent but its all good now.
